Canada’s indigenous communities left without clean water as government misses deadline

The Canadian government has come under scrutiny after it was revealed that many of the country’s indigenous population will not receive clean water despite March 2021 being heralded as the pivotal month in which all First Nations reserves would receive it. 
The United Nations (UN) has reaffirmed the importance for governments around the world to place a clear value on water in order to prevent widespread waste, shortages and high prices which are having a grave effect on some of the world’s most poor and vulnerable.
