The mission of the SDGs Impact Summit was to curate a truly global platform to spotlight Indian and international rule breakers, problem solvers, storytellers, thought shapers, global leaders and renegades with a cause. Prestigious invitees included 500+ global delegates across government, media, talent, civil society, NGOs and corporates. The aim was to inspire and empower action towards the SDGs, and to do this we encouraged insightful story - telling, provided the environment for a generous sharing of experiences and facilitated open discussions. The larger goal was to help galvanise the formation of partnerships from individuals and organisations within the Global North and South, a group determined to accelerate progress and committed to achieve the SDGs by 2030.
Leading innovators, thinkers, figureheads and high profile guests were convened for an action ‐packed two - day event. The SDG Impact Summit, designed to drive forward the achievement of the 17 SDGs, consisted of critical main stage plenary talks, breakout sessions, a global hackathon and a hi-powered networking dinner reception. Successful in inspiring, educating and raising awareness on the importance of the SDGs, the summit’s emphasis was clearly on accelerating and developing innovative and effective programmes and on what it will take to achieve them. The mandate was to set the vision for the next generation and to help achieve a better society as the world enters its most crucial decade.
With under 10 years to achieve the SDGs, the aim is to build on the success of 2019 and use this as an ongoing and unifying platform. We are already planning for the next SDG Impact Summit to encourage urgent and immediate action on the 17 goals. We will bring to the forefront the decisions made in the inaugural event and also identify and outline new opportunities to make the 2030 vision a reality.
